When Scrapper's block hits, try sketches.

Scrapper's block. We have all experienced it at some stage or another. You know the feeling;  you have some time set aside to work on your pages, you have a stack of photos, papers and your tools all set to go ... but no inspiration.  You find yourself shuffling photos nd papers around, but ideas just don't come. What do you do (apart from panic)?  I've tried chocolate and coffee, sometime that helps, but not always.

Fear not, there is a solution ... something to kick start your creativity: Page layout sketches! I found the following sketches and instructions on the CM blog today and thought I'd share them here:

This fresh, fun layout features papers from the Be Bold & Flourish Paper Pack. The 2-Way Corner Rounder nicely rounded off the 3″ x 10″ strips and opposing corners on the small squares (four 1″ squares were cut, then opposing corners were rounded and then assembled as shown) to create the flowers and the title was added using Black ABC/123 Stickers.

Next up is this fun, simple layout featuring yummy papers from the Vintage Paper Pack and a title from the Tangerine, Plum and Then Some Slide-In Pack. Begin with 2-1/4″ x 6″ strips of various patterned paper (this is a great way to use up scraps). Next, trim some faux ribbons from solid-coloured paper scraps (cut an upside down “V” shape to form the banner end shape) and adhere them under a matted photo. Finally, hand-cut journalling strips from patterned paper or scraps of a slide-in card and adhere.:

And our last sketch for today.  In the example below, the squares behind the photos (in the sketch) have been swapped out for outlines cut from Shades of Pastel designer cardstock to create a window effect!

Sketches are examples - just an idea to get your creativity flowing, so there is nothing wrong with mixing it up. swapping components to make them your very own designs .

This page has also used a drop-shadow technique by layering lighter colour circles slightly offset over darker colour circles. This layout features papers from the Fresh Picks Paper Pack, Music Note Border Maker Cartridge, Watercolour Green ABC/123 Stickers and paper from the Shades of Pastel Designer Cardstock Pack.
